For the last few years, whenever or wherever I am invited to travel to teach, I expect that it is just part of the expense of the event that a smaller carbon footprint be priced into the ticket for me. Whether this is just greenwashing or not — on the airline‘s part or mine — it seems at least the basic minimum to have the attitude to carry the burden for lessening some aspect of the footprint, and perhaps the higher cost of the ticket will disincentivize the need for travel.
