Man and machine, life-and-death. Danse macabre. In war finds him peace.

Contemplate on this clip: a GEORGIAN (non-Ukrainian) volunteered in the Ukrainian military against Russia, on his way out the door for a mission, it’s clear from his surroundings, to kill, if need be, to get this war finished and over with.

And yet there is the dance. The dance with his machine, but also this defender’s dance with Death itself. To access such joy, even just mimicked, as he is being drawn into the yawning mouth of violent death at A rapidly approaching moment, this soldier’s danse macabre is a radical act of the utmost freedom!
