I have posted this before. But its point requires a lifetime of attainment and re-attainment, from moment to moment. If there can be any single reason why I still feel such unspeakable gratitude to the man who was my Teacher, Zen Master Seung Sahn, it is his fearsome repetition of this teaching-point, in everything he did. Not books, not knowledge, not understanding, not the conceptual games of the mind, not even himself or Buddhism: trusting our before-thinking mind, sometimes called “truth”.
