Our retreat community held the traditional 49-day memorial ceremony for the deceased husband of a friend of Hyon Mun Sunim from Kraków. The 49-day period represents the time, according to Buddhist tradition, when it is commonly believed that the disembodied consciousness could be choosing another embodied form.
