Saturday in the Neighborhood

Our Saturday morning ritual in the Zen Center is unshakeable: After morning practice concludes with the church bells at seven, those who have a simple breakfast snack clean up after themselves and then we all head out together for farmer’s market. It is right around the block, in the alte Kornmarkt. We scoop up our green elements for the coming week of silent lunches.

And then we stop in somewhere for coffee and a croissant. At least that is also becoming a little tradition here. The Saturday morning coffee. The ritual was sometimes led by our Head Dharma Teacher, Do Tzong, in another bakery/croissant stop. Now we are trying out a new place. Planning the coming week in the Zen Center, the arrival soon of four great nuns from Korea.

Then, return for silent lunch: every day at 12:00.
