Dissociated, to Death

This fascinating graph plots mentions of plants and animals in creative literature. A pivot appears around the Industrial Revolution: there begins a clear and noticeable disappearance of plants and animals from any role in that most human expression, the written word. And this, despite rising concerns over time about decreasing biodiversity. A conclusion is that we have dissociated and become alienated from nature.
