This work of Daniel Martin Diaz came to my attention quite recently. I immediately connected with his vision and his very powerful expression — the mood, the coloration, the medium, the atmosphere, the search for some meaning. From fine neural tendrils to the angular computer circuitry of the silicone motherboards of my birth-home, I felt a deep resonance with his vision from the very first moment. (Having all of the Catholic symbolism also made it instantly familiar, of course.) Daniel Martin Diaz is that rare artist who comments with real clarity and originality on consciousness/spirituality, history, millenarian philosophy, iconography, symbology, sacred geometry, and “mystical behaviours atomic and subatomic levels”, as his website states, without feeling overly snarky, self-conscious, or self-referential. He is at once deeply studied and yet refreshingly naive.
